Product description
Addition-curing RTV-2 silicone rubber curing to a silicone elastomer of low hardness.

Properties
ELASTOSIL® P 7684/40 A/B is an additioncuring two-part silicone rubber with low viscosity.
ELASTOSIL® P 7684/40 A/B cures rapidly at elevated temperatures to a translucent silicone elastomer of low hardness (Shore 00: 40).

Application
ELASTOSIL® P 7684/40 A/B can be used for moulding applications in prosthetics. For combinations with other silicone rubbers, ELASTOSIL® 7684/60 A/B can be used.

Processing
Components A and B of ELASTOSIL® P 7684/40 A/B are homogeneously mixed in an A to B ratio of 1 : 1 and vulcanize rapidly at temperatures above 100 °C. In a given the application required curing conditions (temperature and time) will also depend on the size and thickness of the specimen.

Important note:
The platinum catalyst is in component A.

A and B components may only be used together if they have the same batch number. The fabricator must carry out preliminary tests to determine the optimum conditions for a particular application.
